About:China Visa

Changing departing destination to 3rd country after arriving

I have a transit visa and will departing same arriving airport to a different 3rd country than what is on my itinerary, is this ok? Arriving from Japan, original onward to Hawaii, but I have changed plan to now go to New Zealand. Is this ok.
