Sydney to Shanghai for a 6 day cruise

I am travelling from Sydney, will stay 1 night then get a cruise which returns to Shanghai after 6 days. I will stay one night and then fly back to Sydney. Do I need a visa for this travel plan? Thank you.

If your travel route is Sydney – Shanghai – a third country or region – Shanghai – Sydney, you can use the free transit in Shanghai in both directions. No need to apply for any visa then.
