About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

The immigration officer refused to give me the 72 hours visa waiver

Today I arrived at Guangzhou airport and the immigration officer refused to give the 72 hour Waiver.

We have departing and confirmed airline tickets to Singapore in less than 30 hours.
My current Nationality is from Mexico.

The immigration officer said that he can give me and my family the Visa Waiver program ONLY if we not leave the airport! Which would be nonsense to stay at the airport more than 24 hours waiting for our flight to Singapore.

Feel sorry for what you encountered. You can ask the immigration officer if there is any hotel inside the airport.

Do you have any idea why? I'm stopping over for about 14 hours and I'm also Mexican. But I'm 100% sure Mexico is listed as one of the countries with the 72 hour agreement.
