requirement transiting at Pudong Int Airport

Hi,

I’m a Malaysian. I’ll be travelling from Malaysia (KUL) to Los Angeles (LAX). There’ll be one transit which is at Pudong Int Airport for about 3 hours. Do I need to have a visa if I intend on staying only in the airport until the next flight?
