About:Tianjin Transportation

I will be going to Tianjin next week. I am bit confuse bout the rail station.

Hi

I will arrive from Beijing South. Is it the same train station (TJ Railway Station) as the train Z367 to Harbin will depart? I look at the Google Maps, there are 2 railway station named as TJ Railway Station. One in Hebei, and another one is Hedong Qu. Anyone can help to explain?

From the platform I arrive in TJ, how can I go to the nearest metro station?

It’s the same station. Actually, TJ Railway Station is in the junction of Hedong District and Hebei District.

I see. So it means that it is in the same area, just different building isnt it?

That’s right, and the buildings are very close to each other. For example, the main building is in the Hebei District, but the North Square of the station ( about 300 meters north) is in Hedong.

Great. Thank you Andre.

By the way, how can I reach the ticket office to get my train printed ticket (train to Harbin) and where is the waiting area and platform for the train? Is it at the North or South? I've google-d to find the exact answer but didnt find any.

So you have not collected the train ticket for harbin yet? Then you have to leave the railway station and find the ticketing hall (I remember it is in the north square, but you'd better follow the signs which are in Chinese and English) next to the arrival hall to get that. Then go to the waiting hall again!

At last, actually you can directly collect both train tickets at Beijing South. Then it may be unnecessary to go out of the TJ Station. Just walk through an underpass to the platform for train Z367.

Is there any charge if I get the ticket at the different station?

My plan is, I will arrive at TJ Station by bullet train, then drop my luggage at any luggage locket, collect my ticket to harbin, then go explore TJ until late evening (perhaps until 10pm?). Then, back to the train station to catch my train to Harbin at 3am.

Yes, you need to pay CNY5 if collecting the harbin ticket in Beijing.
