About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can I get another 24h visa if I already had one about 3 months ago?

Hi,
I had a 16hrs layover in Guangzhou when going to new zealand and got the 24hrs direct transit to go out of the airport. Now (3 months later) I am going back home and have another stop in Guangzhou where I have to check out my bag and check it back in because the airline changes. Is there any restrictions stopping me from having a second 24hrs direct transit in a short amount of time?
Thanks!

As of November 2017 Guangzhou airport's immigration officers will only allow you to leave the sterile transit area if your layover is over 8 hours. If it's shorter than that for any reason (including an inbound flight delay) they will not let you out, so plan accordingly.

Oh, thanks! So if my layover is only 5 hours, there is no way I can get my bag just to check it in on my next flight? Any suggestions of what I could do?

I think you can get your bag and then check in on your next flight.

You need to check if the airline can check your bags all the way to the final destination. Most major airlines have interline agreements for baggage transfers not booked on the same ticket. Another way is to get a 10-year L visa so you don't run into trouble at immigration.
