Inquiry about using an invitation letter instead of a bank statement

Hello,
My friend is an Egyptian and she doesn't have enough money in her bank account to proof that she can spend on her own, is it possible to send an invitation letter from a Chinese citizen explaining that he'll cover all her expenses during her stay in China? the letter would naturally include his ID and his bank account statement.
Thanks

Hi, personally I think you can do that. You are advised to contact the China embassy to confirm this beforehand.
