About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Transfer my L visa to my new passport.

My L type expired on November 27th. But since there was not enough time on my current passport, I got a temporary passport from the Canadian Embassy while waiting for my new passport.

I went to Hong Kong and got a valid L type for 6 months with multiple entries, valid until May 27, 2018. I will receive my new passport from Beijing around December 10. I would like to know how to proceed to transfer my entry permit on my new passport. Do I have to go to the Public Security Department for this and how to proceed?

Thanks,

Ghislain Royer

Hi, based on what I know, you don't have to transfer your visa to the new passport. You can travel by bringing two passports. If you are worried, you can contact the China embassy to inquire this.
