About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 long layovers

Hi
I have two long layovers in China on my way to Sri Lanka from Vancouver Canada. My first layover in in Beijing for16 hours were I will be traveling to Hilton Benji airport hotel and staying there for my first layover, l then fly to Chengdu and have a 8 hour layover but wont be leaving the airport. My layovers combined is 24hr ( if my flights are not delayed) will I need a 72 hour or will I be ok under the 24 transit free ?

Thank you.

You need a visa in advance if the time from your scheduled arrival in Beijing to scheduled departure from Chengdu is greater than 24 hours. The 72 hours doesn't apply because you have two stops.
