Visa for China from Japan

Hello,

I'm a French leaving in Japan with a working entry permit, I plan to visit China for 4 days.

Do you know if I need an entry permit? If yes, the only way to get it is through a Chinese embassy/consulate in japan right ?

Thank you in advance for your help.

You need a visa unless qualified for 72/144-hour free transit. The relevant information on visa-issuance can be found on the Chinese Visa Application Service Center. Chinese embassies and consulates in Japan are no longer accepting tourist L applications and all must be made to the CVASC.
