Cruising out of Shanghai - Visa Requirement

We are flying out of San Francisco, USA and arriving in SH at 1115AM then boarding a Princess cruise ship straight from the airport. Ship is scheduled to depart at 5PM the same day.

Do we need to avail of the Visa for China or can we avail of your 72-hour visa transit at the airport?

What documentation do we need to show at the airport in San Francisco, USA of the visa exemption?

Thank you!

As I know, 72-hour visa free transit is not available in your case. And if you are taking the ship to a third region, you can apply for a 144-hour visa free transit. And you need to tell your airline that you will apply for the 144-hour free transit when boarding.
