About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

layover time almost 20hours

I need an entry permit if I layover time almost 19 hours. I'm Vietnamese. I have transit around 20 hours in Shanghai. I asked seller tickets, they told me, I need to apply for a visa.
So, What should I do?

You should first prepare passport and the copy, the application form, a passport-style photo, residence permit in Canada, transportation and accommodation arrangement. Next, submit the application to the CVASC to apply for a transit G type.
