Visa for transit flights?

Hi, I am a United States Citizen traveling to Thailand but making a 4 hr layover in Shanghai Pudong Airport. Do I need a visa for my 4hr stay in Shanghai?

Hi, you don’t need a visa for Shanghai because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit. Nice trip!
