Airport to Greatwall and back

Hi! We just done the Badaling part of the Great Wall today, and the climbing + fussing (tickets, pics, bathroom breaks) at the site took us about 4-4.5 hours. To get there it took us by bus 1h30min from downtown (getting back was longer due to traffic). I thibk since you have more than 12 hours it can be easily done. I think the ticketing office at the Bagaling wall opens at 9 am.

And yes, you need RMBs cash. Cards (visa, mastercard) are not accepted there, with the exception of few places (not even at McDonalds). So retrieve cash beforehand. Entry ticket for the wall is about 40 yuan and the cable cars if you want to take about 150 round trip. Hope it helps

You can take a taxi or private car to the wall. As I know, this agency provides the service, you can book it through: bookingtravelchinaguide.com

Or you can take Airport Express to Dongzhimen and change to metro line 2. Get off at Jishuitan and walk east for about 700 meters to Deshengmen, then catch bus 877 to Badaling. It takes about 2h 30 minutes for a single trip.
