About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Am I qualify for 72 hours free visa?

I am a US citizen holding a US passport. I am planning to visit Hong Kong (knowing that I don't need a visa to travel HK) but I also want to stop by Beijing without applying an entry permit. Am I qualify for the 72 hours free transit? US - HK - Beijing 72 hours - US.

You don't need a visa for that itinerary, as long as you don't stay more than 72 hours in Beijing and your flight from Beijing to US doesn't stop in Hong Kong or China.
