About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Just to shanghai and back to USA

Just traveling from LA to Shanghai for 3 days total and back. Would that require a visa if I'm not traveling on to another country? I'm also a standby passenger so I won't have a reservation back.

Melixza, USA-Shanghai-USA is not a transit at all, so you need to apply for a tourist L type for that beforehand.
