About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

24h visa free exemption?

Dear,

I'm flying with China Southern Airlines from Sydney to Guangzhou, from Guangzhou to Xiamen, from Xiamen to Amsterdam. The scheduled time between entering Guangzhou and departure from Xiamen (total time of stay in China) is about 7,5h. I will not leave the airport and am a Dutch passport holder. Can you explain me if i need a visa or not?

Thanks

You need a visa, or you need to change your flights. Transit including multiple stops within China is permitted at Guangzhou only when the first transit point is Beijing. The total maximum transit time is 24 hours.

Thanks for your reply and info. By which source did you get this information? It isn't stated anywhere...

It's copied and pasted from Timatic, an IATA database which airlines use. When you try to check in at Sydney, the agent will consult it, and hence you risk being denied boarding.
