About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

LHR > PVG > HKG > PVG > LHR

I recently had a wonderful 5 day transit in Shanghai and want to explore the region for just a little longer.

Can anyone confirm if the following itinerary will cause me any problems as it is strictly speaking "allowed" by the "rules" of the transit visa scheme

London > Shanghai (stay 5 days) > Hong Kong (same day or stay one night) > Shanghai > London

Of course, both legs individually qualify for the scheme but I've not heard of anyone doing it twice on the same "ticket" or trip.

Thanks in advance.

The Second Shanghai leg would be another 4-5 days
