German Passport and transit via Shanghai to Hong Kong

Hi,
thank you for this informative site. I want to transit via Shanghai to Hong Kong, and on the same day of arriving in HK I would like to board a fliht back to Europe. Is this possible, since technically the main destination (as messured by duration of stay) would be Shanghai, therefore not makin it a "transit country"?

Hi, if you will travel like a third country or region rather than HK-Shanghai-HK-European countries, you are able to use the free transit in Shanghai. Don't worry!
