Stopover in China on my way to Sydney

UK passport with Australian holiday visa. Do I need a visa for China even if I am just stopping over for a few hours?

Rhiannon, if you enter a Chinese city which carries out the 72 hour/144 hour free transit policy, you may be able to use the free transit. In this case, you don’t need to apply for a visa.
