About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I qualify for 24 direct transit visa ?

hello I am an Italian citizen. Me and my friend in December will go on vacation for two weeks in Australia. I arrive by plane from Italy in Beijing where I stop for 5 hours and pick up the luggage. Then I checkin and take a domestic flight to Guangzhou (Canton) where I stop 3 hours before leaving for Sydney. The flight is Italy-Beijing (with Aeroflot BLQ-SVO-PEK) and Beijing-Guangzhou-Sydney (with China Southestern PEK-CAN-SYD). The same flights back from Sydney. However, transit in China is less than 24 hours even on return. I ask you if I need a visa before leaving Italy or if I can do my trip (with two stops Beijing and Guangzhou) with 24-hour transit directly to the airport.

You may have a problem on your return flight. Currently, transit including multiple stops within China is permitted at CAN only when the first transit point is Beijing (PEK). The total maximum transit time is 24 hours. You are advised to either get a visa or change your flights.
