About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit less than 24 hrs, still best to get 72 hour visa?

We will be in transit less than 24 hours, but I heard it would still be more sure to apply for the 72 hour free transit. I think the difference is that we need to notify the airline on checkin before flying to Beijing ?? What is your recommendation? Should we go for the 72 hour to be on the safe side?

It's not a visa, and there's nothing to apply for. If you are in transit less than 24 hours then you will be granted 24 hours free transit, and the 72 hrs is irrelevant.
