Can we get a second 72 hour visa on my return transit through Beijing

We are planning to go to Beijing from UK on route to Thailand. We will stay for less than 72 hours on outward journey. On our return we require to transit through Beijing for 24 hours. Can we get a 72 hour transit on both visits?
