About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Would I be able to use the 72 transit visa? Thanks.

I will be flying Tokyo to Shanghai, will be there slightly less than 72 hrs, then will fly to New York but via Tokyo (2 hour layover at Narita).

Sorry, because of your short transit in Tokyo for your return trip, you are disqualified.
