About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can i go out of the airport for a 23hrs xiamen layover?

My family and I will be spending this christmas in japan and will have a 23hrs lay over in xiamen. Do we need a visa to go out of the city for a short sightseeing?

Hi, you don't need a visa to go out of the city for a short sightseeing for you can make use of 24 hour direct transit in Xiamen. Just apply for a free temporary stay permit at the airport, and then you can leave the airport for a short sightseeing. Nice trip!
