About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can you fly from a country that is not on the approved list?

For example. We are Canadian citizens, but hoping to book a flight from Thailand or Cambodia to Xian. Then book another flight 2 days later onward to Japan. Would that work, or do we need to fly FROM and approved country?

The list is of nationalities, not arrival or departure destinations. Your plan is fine. Don't worry!
