Visa application with less than 6 month validity

Hello,

I am a New Zealand passport holder but will be travelling over the next two months and my current China entry permit expires this week. I will need to go to China in December but my passport expires in May, can I still go to Hong Kong to apply for a single visa entry for my trip in December if my passport is just short of 6 months?

Thanks,

You can do that as long as there are at least six months left before the passport expires when you make the application.
