About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

American Citizen - Air Asia

I want to fly from Singapore to Beijing then to Malaysia. The flight is on AirAsia. The Singapore to Beijing flight has a stopover in KL. I don't plan to leave the airport. Does this meet criteria for 72 transit.

So you will travel like Singapore-Kuala Lumpur-Beijing-Malaysia, right? If yes, you cannot make use of the free transit in Beijing for it's not a transit.

If Singapore to Beijing is different airline. Then Beijing to Kuala Lumpur is Air Asia. Does that work?

No. As long as your travel route is Singapore-Kuala Lumpur-Beijing-Malaysia.

No flight would be Singapore to Beijing (Airline X) then Beijing to KL (Airline Y). 2 confirmed tickets. 2 airlines.

Singapore-Beijing-KL with 2 airlines separate tickets will be fine for the free transit. Nice trip!
