About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

240-hour visa-free transit American passport

Hi, my initial itinerary is US- Taiwan - VietNam - US. If I want to add shanghai on my flight back to the US. I plan to do 23 for shanghai and then flight out from shanghai to US on 30th, am I eligible for 240 hour transit visa. Thanks

Well, you have not clearly presented your flight back, but under the assumption that your itinerary implies immediate points before and after mainland China in two different countries or eligible territories (eligible territories are Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau), your route would be eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. For example, if you fly Vietnam - Mainland China (Shanghai) - US or Vietnam - Mainland China (Shanghai) - Taiwan, you would be eligible for 240 hour visa free transit. Have a nice visit to China.
