Going to other cities

Am I allowed to go to Tianjin with train when my transit city is Beijing?(Flights in and out go from Beijing)

No. You are not allowed to leave the city of Beijing during your transit time.

How would they know that I left Beijing tho? They won't control my passport for an half hour train ride right?

Chinese trains have document checks at the boarding gates, and it's not an Amtrak-type check either. If caught you will be detained, blacklisted and be permanently ineligible for any type of transit program in the future.
