About:Beijing Capital Airport T3

Arriving from U.S. on United Airlines, then going from Beijing to Urumqi on Air China.

Both arrival and departure on same day, same terminal, but different airlines. Do I have to clear customs/immigration, pick up luggage, re-check in at Air China counter? Or can I just clear customs/immigration at Urumqi?

Yes, you need to pick up your luggage at BJ and re-check it at the counter.
