About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stop in Wuhan and Transfer in Guangzhou

Hi,

I am travelling on an Australian passport and am looking to book the following route with China Southern:

Rome to Wuhan Tianhe International (stop for 1h25m)
Wuhan to Guangzhou Baiyun (transfer for 11h45m)
Guangzhou Baiyun to Brisbane, Australia

I would like to use the free transit hotel in Guangzhou that's offered by China Southern for the 11h45m transit time. I am assuming the hotel will be located outside of the airport.
Could someone please confirm if I can use the 24 hour TWOV for this plan?
Thank-you!

I'm not 100% sure, but that route may not work wihtout a visa because of the very recent changes to 24 hour transit at Guangzhou. It might be safer to book a flight with only one stop in China, or avoid Guangzhou.

That's correct. You'll need a transit visa because of your layover in Wuhan. Guangzhou no longer allows multi-stop transit.
