About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do layovers count?

Hello, i will be traveling from indonesia to kuala lumpur (short 2 layover. No plans to leave the airport or go through immigration) and then to shanghai. My onward ticket is shanghai to kuala lumpur (again short 4 layover with no plans to leave airport) to singapore. Does this work? Thank you

Of course not. Kuala Lumpur - Shanghai - Kuala Lumpur isn't a transit. You need a visa.
