About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

fly from canada to Shangai then HonkKong

Hi I want to travel in honk Kong and stop over in SHangai for 2 days. I would buy single tickets for the flight from Vancouver-Shanghai and then form Shanghai-Honk kong.
Is it allowed to have different tickets to apply for the 72 hours permit or should it be a single ticket with a layover in shanghai?
Thanks

Hi, your separate tickets will be fine for the free transit in Shanghai. No need to worry! Nice trip!
