About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can I use the 72 hour free transit for 3 cities

I, a US citizen, am flying San Fran-Shanhai with a 4 hour layover in Shanhai, then Shanghai- Guanzhou with a 30 hour layover in Guangzhou, then from Guangzhou-Kathmandu via a landing in Kunming. What kind of visa is possible?

Teresa, you won’t qualify for the 72 hour free transit because the 72 hour policy only allows the traveler to transit in one Chinese city. You should apply for a transit G or a tourist L in advance for that.
