About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do we need any visa ? We dont plan on leaving the airport

Hi,

This is my itinerary:

Vancouver, Canada > shanghai(1h40min stop)
Shanghai>osaka

Return:
Osaka>shanghai(2h30min stop, same flight number so same plane?)
Shanghai>Kunming(8h45min stop)>nanjing(1h45min stop, samd flight number)>vancouver

Hi, Shab, you will qualify for the 24 hour direct transit in both directions. There is no need for you to apply for a visa for that. Nice trip!

Thanks. I asked my visa department in my city and they say i do neeed one..? But they are not very helpful and seem to not know the definite answer themselves.. if you are in transit and not leaving the airport, why would you need one? Isnt it neutral grounds?
