Multiple stops - where do I get the Visa for China

I am a US citizen going from the US to Seoul stay 3 nights, then flight Seoul to Macau, 2 night stay, then ferry to Hong Kong, stay 3 nights, then train from Hong Kong to Shenzhen, stay 2 nights, then back to Hong Kong in the morning (train) to take a 6pm flight from Hong Kong back to Seoul, 22 hr transit in Seoul, then returning to the US. What kind of Chineses Visa will I need, where would I get this Macau, Hong Kong or Shenzhen and can I get this Visa before I leave the USA? What is the cost? Thanks in advance.

Part 1:

Your best option is to apply and obtain a Shenzhen 5 day visa on arrival at Lo Wu / Luohu border crossing. It is important to understand that you are not allowed to take a through train service from Hong Kong to Shenzhen. So, you will take a suburban train from Hong Kong until the Lo Wu border crossing. After you are done with Lo Wu, you will proceed on foot to Luohu that is a mainland Chinese counterpart of Lo Wu border crossing. At Luohu you will approach to visa office where you will take a photo at free of charge self service photo machines and also fill out a form. There is an affordable fee of 130 CNY that you will pay by a card (all major international cards are accepted). You can enclose your booking confirmation because you will write down the name of your accommodation on the arrival card that you will also fill out at the border crossing. After a short check, you will be granted a visa and you will proceed to Shenzhen for your planned stay/activities there. When you are done with your stay in Shenzhen you can return to Hong Kong by taking any border crossing and also any mean of transport, high speed train included (it is allowed to take a through, high speed train, but only in direction Shenzhen to Hong Kong and not the vise versa). It is important to understand that this visa is on arrival only and it cannot be obtained anywhere in advance.

One, maybe useful detail here... Since you are departing from Hong Kong airport to Seoul, it would be wise to think about taking a through ferry service from Shekou port in Shenzhen to Skypier at HKIA because this is ideal for people departing from Shenzhen through HKIA. Basically, you do all the formalities at Shekou and your luggage and everything is going directly to the plane and you also skip Hong Kong formalities. In other words, you travel airside right from Shekou to Seoul. Also, you do not need to bother with transfers in Hong Kong. This ferry option could be a winning one in your case. In any case, it will be you to decide. You do not need visa for Macau and Hong Kong. Have a wonderful journey.
