72 hour free transit for stopover in Beijing

I am Russian citizen travelling from Vancouver planning 2 day stopover in BJ and have a separate ticket to fly from BJ to Vladivostok Russia, do I need a visa?

You don't need a visa, since you can enjoy the 72-hour visa free policy.
