About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Does 72-hour free transit allow you to travel freely in China for US citizen?

EWR-PEK-HND I plan to land at PEK on Nov. 5th at 3pm and depart for Tokyo Nov 8th at 8:45 am, can i get 72-hour free transit? If so can I travel freely in Beijing for those 72 hours?

You can enjoy 72-hour free transit in Beijing, and you are allowed to leave the airport to travel freely in BJ.
