About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can we use the 144hr exemption if we fly into Beijing then onto to Shanghai to join a cruise

In Feb 2018 We fly to Beijing for 3 nights then to Shanghai for 2 nights before we join a cruise that leave China and ends in Singapore. Can we use the 144 hrs exemption ?

Definitely not. Two stops in China immediately limits you to 24 hours direct transit. You either need a visa or you need to change your itinerary.
