Need for transit visa for 16hrs long stay?

Will be taking a flight from Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) --> Beijing, PEK --> Incheon, Seoul (Korea). I will be staying at the airport for 16hrs. It is mentioned above that almost any citizen can stay at the airport for less than 24hrs. As a Turkmenistan citizen, I wonder if this applies to me as well. 2 years ago, I was allowed to do this but I guess regulations have changed as they did cause me trouble in my last flight.

Does anybody have any information if I can stay at the airport and be transit without a transit visa for 16hrs of layover?
Thanks

Jon, based on what I know, you can use the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing. You can call Beijing Airport Immigration Inspection to confirm that. Tel: 0086-10-56095400
