About:Visa Policy of China

Do I need a Visa for 20 Hours layover in Shanghai pu dong?

Hell I am going to Switzerland via Shanghai Pu Dong on Sept. and 20 hours lay over in Shanghai, i want to go for a half day city sightseeing then back to my hotel at night. I am a filipino passport and currently residing in Okinawa Japan on SOFA DEPENDENT ENTRY PERMIT ( STATUS OF FORCES AGREEMENT OF UNITED STATES AND JAPAN GOVERNMENT)entry permit ..do i need to pay entry permit for a 20 hours layover just to go for 5 hours sightseeing and to my hotel?

Marlyn, you can enjoy 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. No need to apply for a visa for that.
