Can I activate MTR Travel Pass first, then use 1 Airport Express ride for the way back trip to HKIA?

If I buy the Airport Express Travel Pass - 1 Airport Express Ride, can I use the AE ride for the trip back to the Airport? Because after my arrival in HKIA, I'm planning to go to Macau first (day-1). So, can I activate the MTR Travel Pass first (day-2), then use the AE in the end of my trip (day-5) to go back to HKIA?
