About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Shanghai and Hangzhou short visit

I am USA citizen resident in Singapore. I am wondering can fly Singapore to Shanghai and then visit to Hangzhou for 2 day and then back to fly Shanghai to Singapore. Is that OK for 72 hour visa?
