About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

I am a UK citizen I am going to Hong Kong for 10 days holiday and intend to visit Shenzhen for a day

do I need to apply for a entry permit in the UK or can I get one at either in Hong Kong or at the border to mainland China. How much will it cost?

Mary, you can apply for a tourist L type for Shenzhen beforehand in UK or HK. Or you can try to apply for Shenzhen VOA and it's possible for you to get it at a cost of RMB304 per person.
