Question

I am a US citizen that works for the US Federal government in Germany can I apply for a Chinese entry permit through the mail to the Berlin or Frankfurt consulate using the addresses on this website or do I have to come there in person?  If so how early can I apply?

Hi, you need to make the application from the CVASC in Berlin or Frankfurt, and you can do that by post. You are advised to apply one month prior to your trip.
