About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

Visa for transit in PVG

I will fly China Eastern airlines from Hong Kong to Honolulu via Shanghai Pudong.
I hold a Thai passport not sure whether I need to have a transit visa for staying within the airport.

From what I read "Visa is not necessary for cabin staff and passengers from any other countries who come to China and will only stay within airports no more than 24 hours", I do not need to have a transit Visa then? and do I need to transfer my luggage and recheck in again?

If your layover will not be over 24 hours, then you do not need a visa to stay within the airport. You don’t need to claim your luggage and recheck it again.
