About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

With this route be qualified for the 144 hours free transition period?

I am accompanying my parents back to China due to my father's health issue. However, since it is an emergency, I have not time to acquire the visa. Therefore, I am flying from Sydney to Hongkong then Shanghai, and back to Australia from Shanghai via Hongkong. Would that route be qualified for the 144-hour free transition period? Thanks.

Hi, you cannot use 144 hour free transit in Shanghai because HK-Shanghai-HK is not a transit.

Thanks Martin.

Do you think this route will qualify?

Sydney to Shanghai directly
And then Shanghai to Hongkong then Sydney.
