Layover flight 16 hours - I have a South African Passport

Would I be able to get the 24-hour Visa Free Transit? We are arriving at Beijing and we want to visit the Great Wall of China during the 16 hour layover flight to Vietnam?

Just another question, where do I go etc. Do I ask for the 24-hour direct transit in Beijing? Who do I ask etc. when I arrive?

If you don’t leave the airport, you can just go to the transit zone and stay there.
If you want to leave the airport, you need to apply for a free temporary stay permit at the immigration office inside the airport. You need to provide passport, air tickets, and valid visa for Vietnam.
