The recommended travel route is: Beijing-Zhangjiajie-Guangzhou/Hong Kong. You can take direct flight from Beijing to Zhangjiajie, then fly from Zhangjiajie to Guangzhou. It is convenient to take train from Guangzhou to Hong Kong.

For your reference, it normally needs 2 or 3 days to cover the highlights of Beijing city, three days to visit Zhangjiajie and another 2 or 3 days for Hong Kong.
